1961 Founded Malte Haaning Plastic A/S by Malte Haaning. The production began with straws that developed into other plastic items such as food sticks, jump ropes, flies and many other things.

When suddenly there was a greater demand for pippos, Malte Haaning decided to go in and try this production. In the 1970s, Malte Haaning developed the ironing method. Before you start, glue the beads on plastic trays or cardboard pieces.

The name Hama is a trademark registered in 1984. It stems from the name of the company's founder: ha = the first two letters in the surname and Ma = the first two letters in the first name . Hence the name: Hama.

- Hama Maxi: These are the largest beads from Hama. They measure 10 mm in diameter and can be used by children from 3 years onwards. Playing with pearls helps the child recognize colors.
- Hama Midi: These are the most famous beads from Hama. They measure 5 mm in diameter and are recommended for children from 5 years onwards. These beads can both be ironed and sewn on things. You can also put them on a string and make a nice bracelet.
- Hama Mini: This is the smallest size beads that measure 2.5 mm, and are recommended for children from 10 years onwards. With these beads you can get a more detailed image of the same size pearl plate. You can get more details with more shades of colors.

Develop your motor skills

When playing with beads, a lot of concentration and patience are required. The small beads require attention when put on the string or pearl plate. In this way, the little one can both strengthen their motor skills, while having fun.
