The child has a suction need from the time they are born. The need for a pacifier is not only a vital thing for the child to get food, it also has a huge calming effect on the child. When the child uses his pacifier, it seems safe and familiar in the great foreign world.

How do I clean napping?

The first time your child uses the pacifier, it is important that you sterilize or boil the pacifier for 5 minutes first. Then it is an advantage if you cook the pacifiers daily, so you are sure there are no bacteria on your child's pacifier. You can rub the pacifier with coarse salt, to remove any milk residue or other coatings. To prevent fungus on the pacifier, you can rinse the pacifier with a mild solution of vinegar, and then allow the pacifier air dry. It is important that you always check the pacifier before giving it to your child. If there are signs that the pacifier is worn out, throw it out.

Benefits with pacifiers

A pacifier creates a huge security of the baby because it is a familiar movement for the baby. A pacifier can make it easier for the baby to fall asleep, as the pacifier movement helps calm your baby when the baby needs to sleep. The pacifier can also help calm your child if your child is very upset or angry.

Another advantage of pacifiers is that they can have a pain -relieving effect on your child. If your baby needs to undergo a small operation or need to be vaccinated, the pacifier may divert your baby's attention so that the unpleasant experiences do not feel so bad.

Should your baby have a round, anatomical or a completely different kind of pacifier? It can be difficult to find around and for the most part the only solution is to try the different kinds of pacifiers and see which pacifier your child likes best. However, you can always say that the less pressure that comes on the palate, gums and jaws, the better the pacifier for your baby. When choosing shape on the pacifier, there are several different to choose from. For example, there is the round pacifier, which is the classic pacifier.

The round pacifier looks like a breast, and thus supporting your child's natural and accurate suction technique, the round pacifiers feel very natural to the child to use. The round pacifiers are recommended for children who are breastfeeding, as the child will use the same pacifier technology for both pacifiers and breasts. This way, your baby can more easily switch between breast and pacifier, and you therefore avoid pacifiers.

Another type of pacifier is the symmetrical pacifiers. The symmetrical pacifiers are drip -shaped and therefore cannot be reversed errors in the child's mouth. The symmetrical pacifiers have a flat neck and flat pacifier head, which reduces the pressure on the child's palate and gums. One last kind of pacifier is anatomical pacifier, which fits the shape of the mouth. The anatomical pacifiers press less on the child's palate, jaws and gums and are a very gentle pacifier.

It is important to consider what material the pacifier itself is made of. You can usually choose between pacifiers, made of silicone or latex. Silicone is a very allergy -friendly material. Silicone is 100 % free from harmful and hormone -disrupting substances, such as BPA, PVC and phthalates.

Latex, also called natural rubber, is a natural and very smooth material that cannot be bitten by the child's teeth. Latexnappers are healthy for the teeth, and are often softer than silicone buttons. Test the different pacifiers and see which pacifier your child likes best, all children are unique, and therefore you can't know for sure without trying the different pacifiers.
